Figures

When painting, whether in a bustling city, sandy beach, or a well decorated dinner table—adding figures to the scene brings life to the composition. I am, without a doubt, a “people person.” Personalities inspire my work, the people i'm around weather it's friends, family, or the people I bump into throughout the day. There is always something to pick from and to become inspired by. I would argue that there’s a charm in seeing people in painted scenes. I feel it helps me relate to the work and in my case allow me to showcase my own perspective. Sometimes it isn’t about having the people as the focus—it’s about naturally including them in the scene. That small choice can make all the difference.
